I’m that girl

…Yep. I’m the girl who made a Christmas card before Thanksgiving. But don’t think of me as anti-Turkey Day.

Instead, think of it as us getting a jump on the holiday season– and knocking things out ahead of schedule!

Take these guys…(Seriously. Take them. Go to my Etsy shop and see for yourself.) I wanted to try a new technique in hand-lettering. I wrote everything out and had it made into a fancy stamp. Then I saw this bright paper and it was all over…ta da! Say goodbye to boring old cards…And hello to the brightness.

Custom Skyline • Charlotte Wedding Invitation Designer

What happens in Vegas….went all the way to Charlotte?

He’s a Michigan boy. She’s a Southern gal. They met in Vegas. They ran up their credit cards buying flights to see each other. He moved to Charlotte and asked her to marry him.

The Charlotte skyline, map detailing, and a hand-punched hearts are the perfect handmade touches for this delightful couple’s custom wedding invitations.

Printed on kraft cover, inserted into a navy folder enclosure. Held together by a handmade map bellyband, a nod to the miles these two have and will travel together. (Awwwww!!)

Bachelorette • Wedding Invitation Designer

Every good southern bride needs to have a beachy bachelorette. It’s pretty much the law. So tired of martini glasses and high heels, I was actually inspired by last Monday’s MIM (Make It Mysefff) and thought, what better theme for a bachelorette weekend than friendship itself? The chevron pattern on the bracelets found their way onto this cute little invite. I also love how the pattern kinda looks like an ocean….or at least a colorful, really choppy ocean!

And as an added bonus, this party comes with a make-your-own bracelet! What better way to remember a fun time with your girls?

These invites are in my Etsy shop– just waiting for your friend’s name and info!

Make It Mysefff Monday • Washi Tape Straws

Happy Monday everyone!

Already planning next weekend’s backyard sip-sip? I know I am. Big Morgan is putting the finishing touches on a BEAUTIFUL outdoor space and I am already thinking of fun ways to celebrate its debut.

These little guys are. so. cute. Seriously. You’ve probably seen them around, but I bet you didn’t know just HOW easy they are to make yourself. I promise, it’ll take ten minutes for a party of 6!

Washi Tape Straws

What you’ll need:
6 straws (more or less, depending on the number you are entertaining)
Washi tape in varying colors and/or designs (I get mine here)
scissors (regular or fun edge cutters)

1. Cut a 4″ piece of tape (you’re going to trim some off the end)
2. Place the straw in the center of the tape

3. Roll the straw around until the two sides of the tape join together.
4. Carefully smooth the tape together, taking care that it is aligning as you go.
 5. Trim the end in any design you want– I like to cut to snips off the end, for an inverse triangle.

6. Repeat steps 1-5 up to three times per straw: too many and your flags get wet!
7. Enjoy with a refreshing beverage!
