The Sweetest 4th + Patriotic DIY

It may be the dog days of summer here in South Carolina, but that means the 4th of July is right around the corner. At our house, that means sticky watermelon seeds, lots of sweet tea, and of course, patriotic crafts! With the 4th a week away, it’s time to plan your own Independence Day Soirée!

Today on The Sweetest Occasion, (my go-to blog for all things festive and happy!), you can download two free patriotic printables. The first is a sheet of iron-on graphics for t-shirts, cloth napkins, clothes for the kiddos, whatever! The second is a thank you note to send to our armed forces. I love the idea of setting up a “note-writing station” at your party and asking guests to take a few minutes to thank a serviceman or woman. You can find both PDFs right here. Did I mention they are free and designed by yours truly?

And you can expect to much more where these came from! I am actually going to be contributing more designs to The Sweetest Occasion in the coming months! (Check out the About page…see? Legit.)

Love,

Good Stuff.

I feel like I’ve been teasing you, dear readers, for a while now about some awesome things that are going on here at Miss Wyolene. I’m really excited to share one of them today!

Miss Wyolene has been published again! This time, in Hot-lanta. Occasions Magazine is the gorgeous, go-to publication in Atlanta for all things wedding and beautiful. They gave The NotWedding some great coverage, and were sweet enough to include a new Miss Wyolene design in one of their editorial pieces on color for the summer. (Lavender, anyone?)

I am currently working on an entire collection and these Flutterby Pretties might be a part of it. If you are loving them for your big day, drop me a line and I’m happy to get a custom quote for you!

Love,

Boy, oh boy…

Before….

…After!

Yep, that’s blue icing you see, people. The tiniest Mo is a little fellah! We surprised our families with the news last night using these fabulous cupcakes from Iced here in Taylors. There were a few tears of joy, and a few slightly off color jokes at our child’s bashfulness…or lack thereof. :)

In work news, Greenville shop Even a Sparrow now carries Miss Wyolene! Grab a beer at Community Tap, a t-shirt at Dapper Ink, and stroll on over to Even a Sparrow and take a gander at the cards and all of the other awesome local and regional designers they carry!

Happy weekend, everyone!

Love,

New in the shop • Meet Mizelle

Nice to meet you, Miss Mizelle. (Its a real name, I promise. Though, one we aren’t considering for the baby.) Pronounced muh-zelle,  she is the newest member of the Miss Wyolene Wedding and Party Collection. Inspired by a sunny afternoon garden party, this suite is collaged and hand lettered by yours truly. You can order yours in my Etsy shop, and as always, custom quotes are available.

The National Stationery show has lit a fire under my behind and let me tell you, even though it’s about to get crazy busy around here, it is my goal to keep you posted. We have some house renovations coming up, of course the ever growing baby that makes me hungry and crabby for no apparent reason, and a few really exciting surprises this summer that I will surely let you in on as soon as I can. (Hint: we find out next week whether or not Baby Young is a he or a she…SO excited.)

Love,
